A webhook is a method of data transfer that enables apps to communicate with each other in real time. This means that if you create a webhook between your form and another application, you will receive notifications of form submissions as soon as they happen.
Don’t see the integration you need amongst our integration offerings? We’ve got you covered. Our resources make it easy to create custom webhooks and integrations for your online forms.
What is an API?
An API (Application Programming Interface) is also a method of data transfer. However, unlike a webhook, an API does not communicate with apps in real time. Instead, it works more like a traditional integration and sends data between apps at set intervals.
Here are the form API and webhook tools we offer:
REST API Documentation: Access Formstack resources programmatically to create custom integrations with 3rd-party applications.
Webhooks: Get real-time HTTP POST notifications when a Formstack form is submitted. Push submitted data to other services or custom scripts.
Zapier is a web automation tool that connects your forms to over 650 popular web apps. Formstack is proud to partner with Zapier to further extend our native integrations. From customer relationship management (CRM) to accounting, you can do more with your form data and automate multiple business processes.
