Apply for Financial Aid

This application is for financial aid for semester programs in South Africa and for our Global Veterinary Semester Abroad program. Please be sure to fill out the application for admission BEFORE applying for financial aid. Financial aid applications received without an accompanying application for admission will NOT be processed.

Loop Abroad's programs are tailored to hard-working, adventurous students and young adults who display integrity and curiosity in their daily lives. If you fit this description, but the program is outside of your financial abilities, please do not rule out applying.

Our first priority is finding students who will benefit from, bring something unique to, and excel within our programs. We are happy to help you find ways to make our programs a reality for you. Funds are granted on a rolling basis so if you will need financial aid, we strongly encourage you to apply early.

For the Global Veterinary Semester Abroad, Loop Abroad has a number of $500 awards and a smaller number of awards up to $5000.

If your household income is under $100,000, you are welcome to apply for financial aid. If your household income is over $100,000, but you still would like to request aid because of a special circumstance, please email us. Financial aid determinations include considerations for family expenditures such as private school tuition and upcoming college tuition. We can also help by providing interest-free payment plans, personalized payment schedules, and fundraising assistance. For summer programs, many students fundraise their entire trip abroad. If you need help, please reach out and ask, and we'll do what we can.

This form includes a place to upload a copy of last year's income tax return or FAFSA. If uploading a tax return (1040), you should use your parents' return if they claimed you as a dependent. You may use your own tax form if you filed your own taxes and no one else claimed you as a dependent. Please have that information prepared before you begin the form, as you cannot save an incomplete form and return to it later. Students receiving financial aid are required to make a personal contribution to paying for their travel with Loop Abroad. This can come from personal savings, work, fundraising efforts, seeking outside scholarships or grants, or securing funds from their school or other supportive entity. Whatever percentage this amount is of the total trip cost, it is a chance for students to make this trip possible for themselves.
