“Here to Help” is a weekly Support column written especially for Formstack’s awesome, loyal customers.
Here at Formstack, we’re always looking for ways to improve our product and make our awesome customers happy. It all boils down to a very simple equation:
Happy Customers = Happy Formstack!
Our customers regularly give us great ideas for new features, integrations, and other product improvements for our online form platform all the time. To keep track of these ideas, we launched an interactive Ideas Site in October 2016. Since the launch of our Ideas Site, we’ve received over 360 idea submissions from Formstack customers and employees! It’s a great place to submit your ideas, or vote and comment on other ideas that fellow Formstack users have submitted.
How To Use The Ideas Site
Our Ideas Site is reserved for paying customers only. You can access the site through the Formstack app (see below), or at http://ideas.formstack.com.
In the top left corner of the Ideas Site, there’s a blue button that says “Add a new idea.”
Once you select the button, you’ll see a screen prompting you to tell us about your idea. On this screen, you can write a summary and description of your idea and select a category (like where you think your idea should exist in the Formstack app or whether it’s a new integration or potential use case). You can then tell us what problem this idea would solve, and provide a current workaround for the problem. You can also attach files to your idea to help us better understand exactly what you’re looking for.
After you submit your idea, it will show up with other form ideas in the category you selected. Other Formstack users and employees can vote on your idea if they want to see it implemented, too! From the Ideas Site homepage, you can change the view to see the most recent ideas, “trending” ideas, and “popular” ideas (ideas with the most votes).

How Formstack Uses the Ideas Site
After an idea is submitted, it’s sent to the Formstack Product Team for review. The Product Team looks out for a few things:
- If the idea already exists on the Formstack app, the idea submitter is notified with an explanation, and the idea is moved into a section with other ideas that already exist.
- If the same idea already exists on the Ideas Site, the ideas and their votes are merged. We don’t want duplicate ideas floating around out there!
- If the idea would be unlikely or impossible to implement, the idea submitter is notified, and one of our Product Managers will comment on the idea to provide an explanation.
- If we’re planning to implement the idea or the idea has been shipped, the idea submitter is notified, and the idea is moved into a section with other “Planned” and “Shipped” ideas.
Our Product Team will review ideas periodically, and ideas with the most votes are given higher priority.
Changes to Note
In the past, customers who reached out to our Support Team were encouraged to fill out our Feature Request Form. The Ideas Site was built as an interactive replacement for this form.
