UPDATE: Friday, August 21 – After evaluating our process for migrating the Formstack servers to a new data center, we have decided to postpone the switch until next quarter. This decision was made to ensure a completely smooth switch and minimize downtime as much as possible. This means we will no longer be initiating the migration on Sunday, August 23. We’ve recently made improvements to our existing data center, so we are confident we can maintain current levels of operation while we wrap up a few final logistics with our more highly-available solution.
There is no action needed on our customers’ part. All forms, submissions, user permissions, and security settings will remain unaffected at this time and during the upcoming migration. We will continue to message our users around this process so we can make you aware of any potential connectivity issues. This Sunday (8/23/2015) at approximately 12:00 p.m. EDT, we will be migrating our system to a new data center. We’ve been working toward this migration since our downtime in late June. Our new hosting provider will give us more control over our infrastructure and allow us to build out a more highly-available platform.
We don’t expect any major downtime, but there will be intermittent connectivity issues to our servers while we make the switch to our new data center. These connectivity issues may persist through the afternoon and evening as updates are propagated. We will have several members of our team on hand to address any bugs or issues that arise during the switchover. Should you notice some slowness or downtime, please refer to our Status page for the most up-to-date information about the app.
Along with the data center migration, we will be using a new vendor to send emails from our systems. If you’ve previously whitelisted our IP addresses, note that they will all change.
We wanted to give you plenty of advance notice about this scheduled migration so your team could plan accordingly.
