Nonprofits, it’s time to gear up for #GivingTuesday: a 24-hour global movement when people around the world will be in a very charitable spirit. A cause that led to $32 million in donations following Black Friday and Cyber Monday in 2013. A day of 90% increases in online giving.

Soon millions will be clicking email links and updating social sites as they give, give, give.

The easier you make it for people to find and fill out your Formstack donation forms, the more likely your charity will benefit. So pull up your form builder and follow these tips as you get ready for December 2nd:

1. Embed your form on Facebook

If you’ve never used this feature, now’s the time! People are more likely to complete your donation form if they don’t have to break away from their favorite social media site to get to it.

With Formstack’s Facebook Embed Tab you can easily insert a form right into your Facebook business page without any coding or programming knowledge.

All you have to do is activate the feature within your ‘Publish’ tab if you’re subscribed to our Teams or above plans. Then, simply select the form you want to embed.

2. Prepare the perfect landing page

Landing pages are the key to successful campaign marketing. Place your #GivingTuesday donation form at the top of a focused, distraction-free landing page. Then use hashtags to promote that exact page in all your outreach efforts. Formstack is built to fill landing pages with attractive form headers, easy-to-complete fields, compelling call-to-action buttons, and more.

If you give your landing page an evergreen URL (such as www.yourdomain.com/givingtuesday), you’ll have the perfect campaign-ready webpage you can update year after year.

3. Spread the word with custom tweets

Our Twitter integration lets you automate custom tweets when people complete your form. This is a great way to spread the word and doesn’t require any programming. Start by adding a field to your form to ask users for their Twitter handles. Then craft a personalized message that acknowledges their important role in the initiative (i.e. Thanks to @Formstack for supporting @{YourOrganization} this #GivingTuesday. You can too at www.yourdomain.com/givingtuesday)

It’ll not only encourage retweets but also lead more people to your awesome #GivingTuesday landing page.

4. Evaluate your payment gateway integration

You may be happy with your current payment gateway integration with Formstack. Or it might be time to check out our Payment Gateway Comparison Chart to find the ones that will work best for your organization on #GivingTuesday. Formstack integrates with many different payment gateways that make it easy, safe and secure to collect money.

You can give people the opportunity to choose how they submit payments to you by integrating multiple gateways. Whichever payment processor you use, be sure to set up any necessary security requirements when connecting to your form.

5. Add a field for year-round giving

#GivingTuesday may be a one-day movement, but that doesn’t mean you can’t leverage it to encourage online giving all year. Why not add a field to your form and give people the option to repeat their donations on the first Tuesday of every month?
