How to Set Up Limited Inventory Control for a Form

Hello Formstackers!

Today I would like to show you how to implement Limited Inventory Control that you can use to limit the products you sell.

If you are selling something that has a limited quantity, such as seats in an event you are putting on, then you can use something like this to make sure you do not sell more seats than you have to offer.

In the builder for your form, click “Add Field”, then choose “Checkbox”.

Next, set the label to the name of your product, and check the “Unique” checkbox. It is better to leave this filed un-required, more about that below.


After that, click on the options box and add all of your “seats,” such as Seat 1, Seat 2, Seat 3, etc. If you have made this field “Required” then make sure you put an option at the bottom that says “Sold Out”, otherwise this will not work. Even with the sold out option, if someone checks it it will shut down your form. So if you can get away with the field not being “Required” you will be better off.

Now when you preview the form and choose an option then submit. Then next time you load that form the option will not be available.
