I am Lara Parker, Formstack social media/PR intern for the summer.
I am from the lovely town of Morgantown, Indiana. Population: 986. I live on 70 acres of farm land and we raise cows. BEEF: It’s what’s for dinner. I have Lebanese roots and a huge extended family that likes to get together on said farm and go hay bale jumping. (try it)
I am now a senior communication/public relations student at University of Indianapolis and I will graduate in May of 2013.
During my lovely college years I served as president of the UIndy PRSSA chapter, and as an account manager for Top Dog Communication, the student-run firm on campus. During my time as an account manager for Top Dog, we were named “Outstanding Firm” at 2011 PRSSA National Conference. It was pretty hip.
When I’m not interning for Formstack, I enjoy googling kangaroo pictures, exercising, and sports. I am a Saints, Dodgers, Purdue, and Pacers fan. I especially love playing football and have been a member of the Brunettes team for the Indianapolis Blondes vs. Brunettes powderpuff football game put on by the Alzheimer’s Association for two years now. It should be noted that Brunettes are 2-0.
I also love social media. It’s pretty awesome that you can form a relationship with someone that you haven’t actually met in person. Or maybe it’s a little weird…but either way, I love it. (@laraeparker)
I also love traveling, and when my time at Formstack ends in August I will be packing up my life and heading to Australia for the semester. I will be studying at Bond University in Gold Coast, Queensland and hopefully I will come back in December with an Australian accent, lots of kangaroo friends, and awesome surfing skills…which is pretty important considering I live near so many oceans.
