Understanding your customers as a whole is incredibly important when building an app that is so versatile across such a vast amount of industries. Formstack has become an integral part of business processes across several types of organizations, no matter the size or focus. This is nothing new for web applications in general. However, as of late, we’ve been spending more time researching and gaining a better understanding of our customers, individually. Our thoughts are that by doing so, it will allow us to view our product in a different, more important perspective – yours.
The first industry on which we’ve been aiming our focus is the higher education industry. Throughout the past couple of weeks, our team has been conducting research with a number of our education customers, digging deeper in to how they view our form builder.
Some of you may have received an email requesting your participation in our survey. First of all, we wanted to thank all of you who took the time to answer some of our questions. Secondly, we wanted to share with you our new education page dedicated specifically for higher ed/university Formstack customers. (See below)
And last but not least, we wanted to share with you the results from the education survey we conducted. Our team has created a snazzy infographic to help showcase some of the information we found about our education customers.
Here is a general breakdown of the information:
1. Popular Departments
We recently posted about how different university departments can use Formstack. This was great information if you’re looking for different ways to use education forms. But are you curious to see how your peers are using Formstack? So were we! Through the survey results we found that the most popular department to use Formstack was Student Services with 49%. Whether it is for online application forms, university registration forms or student event forms – it is clear that those in the student services department are taking the lead.
2. Features You Love
When it came to features, conditional logic won out by a landslide. It’s clear that with the numerous evaluation forms, student financial aid forms, and so on, that conditional logic is a prized featured used by the majority of our education customers. Smart routing and themes were a close second and third.
3. How You Use the Form Builder
It was evident that with the heavy lifting in form building coming from student services, that event registrations and surveys would take the lead in how our form builder is most used.
