Now, let’s get down to the nitty gritty details.
Faster form building design
With the new design, you’ll notice that building your form has become much simpler. The “Form Fields” are now included in the left sidebar, eliminating the step of clicking “Add Field” and then clicking whatever field you wanted to add. This will now allow you to directly drag and drop a new field into your form without dealing with those extra steps. You’ll also see that we’ve updated the Save and Preview buttons to icons.
Interactive signature field
Get your John Hancock’s ready, my friends, because we now have an awesome new signature field you can use to gather all those autographs you need. Whether you’re processing payments online or collecting signatures for a petition, our new signature field allows you to quickly add that option to your form. Adding this field to your form is pretty simple, but I wanted to show you what it would look like when added. See below for a preview. Also, stay tuned for more details on the blog as we dig deeper into how you can use this cool new feature.
Quick theme editor
On our old builder, we gave you a selected option of “Style Templates” that you could apply to your forms. Now we’ve switched “Style Templates” to “Themes” as we see it as a more appropriate and comprehensive descriptor. What’s great is that you can now quickly edit your form theme within the builder. Below you will see the “Edit Theme” tab shown.
Select from one of our pre-made themes or create your own. As you can see below, you’ll be able to preview what it would look like based on the theme you choose. Want to see what the background image would look like as well? Just click the Preview button (eyeball in the top right-hand corner). A new window will open with your form preview, so don’t worry about losing your place. Sometimes, I even like to keep it up as I edit so I can easily hit “Refresh” and see what the changes looked like.
Relocation of “Options” and “Conditional Logic”
Once you drop the new field over to your form, you’ll see a “New Field” lightbox pop up. This still functions as before except for one small addition. While editing a field, you’ll notice that “options” (the list of answers you give your users to pick from) and “conditional logic” (if/then filter) are no longer on the main edit menu. We’ve moved them both to separate tabs within that window to give them a distinction and also to minimize any clutter. Now you can focus on one thing at a time without being overwhelmed… ahhh, easy peasy.
You’ll also notice that we’ve added a “Rich Options Editor” that allows you to match up options and values in a cleaner way. You can still use the “Simple Options Editor” that you’re used to (as seen below), but if you like to take your list and segment them out for accuracy, I’d definitely suggest our new Rich Options Editor.
Snazzy “Submit” Button Customization Options
Bored with your old, stale Submit button? Would you like to jazz it up and give it some life? Yeah, we would too. That’s why we’ve created more customization options for your submissions button. We could tell you how awesome it is, but why not login and see for yourself! But beware, it’s a little addicting.
CVC and Expiration Date Added to Credit Card Fields
When adding a Credit Card field in the past, you would have to create the field, add another short answer field for CVC and ANOTHER field for the expiration date. With our updates, we have included CVC and expiration date options you can add directly from the Credit Card field editor. As you can see below, they are under the “related fields” section.
Required Field Option Made Easier
This is a little change, but one that surely will make form building just a little faster. If you need to make a field required, you can just click the black asterisk next to the label within the form builder and it will automatically make it required. You can still edit it within the field editor menu, however, if you’re in a rush, this is a much faster way of doing so.
Be sure to check out our video for a great walk-through on all of the updates!
