You’re not gonna believe this, but here at SLC we actually make a few boo-boos in our happy little leather shop! Of course, I don’t make any of those mistakes! So…..it has come to my attention that folks working in there aren’t perfect, and along the way, we have accumulated some products that just aren’t able to be sold as number one quality.

   This would include some of everything that we make. Various styles and versions of checkbook covers, card cases, several styles of men’s wallets, leather shapes, tool carriers, embossed belts, finished belts, raw belt strips and other items as well.

   Some of the things that could cause something to be a 2nd, could include the following: A visible scratch or dent in the leather. Slight discoloration. A skipped stitch or other stitching issues. Wrong leather or a wrong color used for a job. And a host of other little things. Many times you’d never even know that something was a 2nd.

   So…. What we’re gonna do, is post those things on this section of our site. If you happen to scan thru this category, and you see something that you think you’d like, here’s what you need to do:

   To begin with, you cannot just order it on the site. You have to either Email Emma@springfieldleather.com or me, Kevin@springfieldleather.com and let us know what you’d like.  We will immediately check the stock, pull the item, and confirm the availability.  At that point you’ll need to provide payment information, and we’ll ship it right out.

Conceal Carry Belt Seconds

    We  produce conceal carry belts for a large volume customer on a weekly basis.  Before I bought reading glasses for everyone, we had a few belts go thru with some very slight imperfections.  Perhaps a tiny scratch.  Perhaps a little grain irregularity.  Perhaps just a slight color issue. Maybe a skipped stitch, etc, etc. The belts that are first quality perfect are being sold to folks on the order of European prime ministers, government officials, Israeli military, etc., and are sold for an absurd amount of money!  (in my opinion!)  So what I’m trying to say here is that most of the time you won’t even know that these belts have any issues at all, or they will be very very minor, and they are extremely serviceable, and will be a bargain for you if you can use them. 

The belts are made by laminating a layer of tight grained vegetable tanned horse hide to a layer of Veg tanned cowhide.  They are 1 ½” wide, and slightly under ¼” thick.

The key to this, is the sizing of the belt. We just need to know the size according to the measuring instructions that we’ve outlined here. 

            If you have an existing conceal carry belt, just measure it from where the belt is folded over, to the hole that the buckle hooks in.  If you don’t have a current carry belt, just add 2 inches to the measurement of a regular casual belt, and that will provide what we need.  If you just state your waist or pant size, you WILL get a belt that doesn’t fit. 

            If you wish to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity, here’s how you do it:  You’ll need to email Emma@springfieldleather.com   Tell her the size and color of belt that you’re wanting, (black or brown only) and she’ll check the stock, and tell you yea or nay.  If the answer is yea, she’ll put a hold on the belt, and notify you.  Then you’ll need to provide her with cc info, and we’ll ship it right out.  This is ongoing production, so stock is fairly consistent.
